PARKS & RECREATION SITE SUPERVISOR I- FORESTRY DIVISION

Location: Tampa, Florida
Salary: $27.34 - $40.93/hour; $4,738.93 - $7,094.53/month; $56,867.20 - $85,134.40/year

An employee in this class is responsible for performing diverse supervisory and administrative tasks in directing the efficient supervision, operation, and maintenance of the trees in 194 parks and along 1,400 miles of City streets. Work is of considerable difficulty and involves planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating forestry activities, arboriculture programs and tree maintenance and requires considerable initiative and independent judgment, tact, and courtesy. Work entails extensive contact with the public. This position requires knowledge of arboriculture practices, urban forestry needs, and how to service those needs efficiently and effectively. Employees may be required to work flexible hours. Under general direction of a manager, employees are required to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in coordinating with subordinates to develop and execute the urban forestry program. Employees evaluate personnel, equipment, material, and maintenance requirements and coordinate the recruitment and procurement of resources as needed and approved. The employee is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.
