Position Overview

We are hiring experienced Tree Climbers and Groundsmen to join our Tree Division. This role works as part of a crew to safely and efficiently perform tree care services, including climbing, rigging, pruning, removals, and jobsite support.

Candidates may be considered for either a Climber or Groundsman role based on experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesTree Climber Duties (Experienced Only)

• Perform tree climbing, pruning, and removals using proper rigging techniques
• Safely climb palm trees and perform specialized trimming
• Follow ANSI Z133 safety standards at all times
• Inspect trees and execute proper pruning practices
• Maintain climbing gear, ropes, and equipment
• Support crew members and assist with jobsite operations
• Execute safe aerial rescue techniques when necessary

Note: Applicants without tree climbing experience will not be considered for climber roles.

Groundsman Duties

• Maintain a safe and clean jobsite (cones, hazard awareness, traffic control)
• Assist climbers by managing ropes, tag lines, and drop zones
• Drag, chip, and dispose of brush, logs, and debris
• Operate chippers, blowers, chainsaws, and hand tools
• Load trucks and ensure all tools/equipment are accounted for daily
• Support crew communication and watch for hazards aloft
• Assist with site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance

General Responsibilities (All Crew Members)

• Work closely with Crew Leaders and Tree Division management
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Maintain efficiency and high-quality work standards
• Assist with truck prep and daily job readiness
• Communicate effectively with team members
• Be willing to work flexible shifts and outdoor conditions

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tree care equipment and safe operation practices
• Understanding of ropes, knots, and rigging systems (required for climbers)
• Ability to work at heights and in extreme weather conditions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to recognize hazards, including electrical risks
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Valid Nevada Driver’s License (3+ years preferred, not required)

Requirements

• Climber: Minimum 3 years of tree climbing experience required
• Groundsman: Tree/landscape experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Must have (or obtain) First Aid/CPR certification
• Strong physical stamina, balance, and awareness
• Ability to work safely and respond quickly in emergency situations

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in varying conditions (heat, wind, dust, etc.)
• Working at heights, around machinery, and near roadways
• Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Must be available to work all shifts as needed
