Arborist

Location: Blue Ridge Parkway, NC & VA
Salary:

We are currently seeking hardworking individuals to help with a project maintaining the scenic overlooks along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and Virginia. 

Location:

- company based in Yancey County, NC

- work will occur along Blue Ridge Parkway throughout western NC and VA

- overnight travel will be required during the week depending on location

Duties:

- cutting small trees and brush with brushcutters and chainsaws

Timeframe:

- September 2021 - April 2022

- Additional commercial/residential tree care and/or forestry opportunities may be available upon completion of the Parkway project.

Requires:

- good physical fitness

- strong work ethic

- ability to work on rough terrain and steep slopes

- ability to work long days outdoors in all types of weather

- drivers license & vehicle for transportation to jobsite

- no substance abuse issues

Preferred:

- experience operating handheld power tools, especially chainsaws and brushcutters

- experience in forestry, tree service, wildland fire, landscaping, or related industry

- ability to identify plant species in winter

- ISA Certified Arborist

- 2 or 4 year forestry degree

Compensation:

- Depending on experience and ISA certification

- Housing stipend when overnight travel is required
