Crew Leader and Climber

Are you a kind, compassionate human being, searching for a career outdoors? Are you passionate and curious about trees and tree preservation? Are you an ISA certified arborist or plan to become ISA certified? Climbing experience and comfort in safe tree climbing and work positioning required. We are looking for folks with at least two (2) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) experience in the tree care industry. We value team players who have proven initiative, can cultivate a positive attitude, are self-motivated and have enough industry experience to fill a climbing arborist role without supervision.

We are looking for a curious, conscientious, and motivated tree-preservation-minded individual to join our diverse team of tree care professionals. Smart Feller Tree Works will always encourage our team to grow and develop as a person and as a professional.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Beginners mind: Never stop learning! Our team is better when you are better.
• Safety: Take an active role in keeping yourself and your coworkers safe.
• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, to our specific company protocols and guidelines, including:
• Tree climbing
• Pruning
• Rigging
• Cabling and bracing
• Removals
• Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Implementing work zone safety procedures
• Driving large vehicles; towing chippers & trailers
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies.
• Customer service: Being the face of Smart Feller Tree Works!

QUALIFICATIONS

• Teachable attitude
• A passion and respect for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least two (2) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) experience in the tree care industry
• ISA certified arborist or plan to become ISA certified
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record (Class B CDL = welcome)
• Willingness to drive company vehicles on a daily basis.
• Loves to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
• Excitement and willingness to perform as an industrial athlete, which routinely involves lifting ~60lb or more.
