Arborist, Assistant Arborist and Tree Trimmers

| Job Purpose Responsible for the pruning and general maintenance of trees and palms in accordance with the International Society of Arboriculture as well as city, county and state pruning codes. |

| Principle Accountabilities - Implements, monitors and enforces all safety standards for arboricultural operations approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI Z133.1).
- Implements all verbal and written work orders.
- Provides labor and technical knowledge regarding tree and palm pruning.
- Confers with peers and/or supervisor on special problems within the department.
- Maintains pruning schedules for the division.
- Has a significant role in contract preparation for pruning, installations and removals.
- Ensures that all equipment, including vehicles are cleaned and serviced regularly.
- Performs routine inspections of equipment and vehicles for safe and reliable operation.
- Inventories, inspects and recommends tree and palm pruning for Council and Association properties.
- Has a significant role in storm response.
- On call status: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Supervisor will notify employee as needed.

- Preventing property damage by utilizing current pruning practices. - Provides current inventories for accurate job costing. - Notifies supervisor of landscape material that falls below Wynmoor standards. - Must be aware of worksite safety issues and implement safety standards for staff and residents. - Working within a senior community with all residents/directors believing that their issue/problem should be the priority. - Organizing time appropriately to fulfill principal accountabilities. |

| Knowledge, Skills and Ability Must have or exceed a valid Broward County Tree Trimmer I Certification. International Society of Arboriculture - Certified Arborist (preferred) Knowledge of current ISA pruning standards and county and municipality codes. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, residents and department heads. Initiative and resourcefulness of handling problems. Must be in good physical condition. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license. |
