Regional Species Validator

Salary: hourly based on experience

We are seeking a qualified inventory arborist to support quality control for our LiDAR-based tree inventory platform.  We also accept aspiring arborists and inventory specialists in roles at all levels.

At greehill, high-quality tree data is fundamental to the decisions cities make about their urban forests. Our system combines mobile LiDAR, AI-based analysis, and a structured validation workflow to produce reliable, decision-grade outputs at scale.

Arborists play a critical role in this process. Through a rigorous quality control framework, our experts review and validate outputs, ensuring that local species palettes, tree characteristics, and structural metrics meet professional standards.

This role supports our commitment to delivering accurate, verified tree data that cities and arborists can trust.

Logistics:
1. Work is flexible, uses your own computer, and can be done from anywhere, anytime, and on your own schedule and equipment.  This is all computer-based work.

2. Pay is by the hour, as an independtent contractor.  We provide assistance with invoicing and training.

3. We employ dozens of part-time people per region.  Depending on your familiarity with the species in different regions, you could join multiple teams.  In 2026, we are especially eager to build a team for the Southeast US, California (northern Bay/coastal focus), and the desert Southwest.  We also have teams for the South, including Texas, the Midwest, and the Northeast.
