Climbing Arborist

Location: Seattle, WA
Salary:

Full-time production climber role, focused on high-quality tree care and tree removals

Perform high-quality tree care including structure pruning, crown reduction, cabling/bracing and ornamental pruning. Perform tree removals using fundamental cutting/rigging skills and learn advanced techniques for technical tree removal and precision felling. Apply and expand knowledge in tree identification, biology, pruning strategies, growth response and diagnostics.  Continue learning and contribute to the advancement of our profession through education, volunteering/participating at industry events and tree climbing competitions.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in professional arboriculture, Certified Arborist credential or must obtain w/in 12 months
  • At least 2 years professional tree climbing experience
  • Proficient in safe work practices for ground ops, chainsaw ops, climbing, rigging, chipper ops
  • Experience driving trucks with towed chippers/trailers preferably in a city environment
  • Confident use of MRS (moving rope) and SRS (stationary rope) climbing systems to work safely and efficiently in trees of all sizes
  • Leadership experience and other credentials a plus (eg. CTW, TRAQ, TCIA courses)
  • Starting wage $32-38/hour with opportunities for raises by obtaining certs and credentials
  • Raise of $2/hour upon obtaining Certified Arborist credential (if not held already)
