Supervisor Consulting Utility Forester (SCUF)

VerdeCare Vegetation Solutions, a Rainbow Tree Care Company, is currently accepting resumes for Supervisor Consulting Utility Foresters (SCUFs). The work locations will span from Central through Northern CaliforniaWe are seeking Forestry or Utility Vegetation Management professionals who share our company vision of transformed Utility VM programs. As a Supervising Consulting Utility Forester, you will be an integral member of a team continuously developing and expanding our expertise in the art and science of UVM. Your qualifications must include industry certification (ISA Certified Arborist) and a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing utility vegetation work (General Foreman, Crew Foreman, Forester, Planner, etc.). If you are still pursuing some of these qualifications and have a passion for trees and a desire to help transform the environment, we have other opportunities and will train candidates that are a cultural fit with our company.

What You Will Do:

  • Supervise teams of 5 or more Consulting Utility Foresters
  • Train, audit and assist team to conduct assessments of trees and site conditions
  • Meet with landowners, stakeholders and utility partners to address questions or concerns
  • Respond in a professional manner and document all customer interactions
  • Report all customer service issues to the Field Supervisor, Field Manager, or Operations Manager following clearly defined lines of communication
  • Uphold our value of safety by following all safety requirements and procedures, attend safety trainings, and utilize required safety equipment at all times
  • Perform daily safety check and ensure all equipment is in safe working order before use
  • Safeguard employees, equipment, and public from hazards in and around the work area, including private property: document and report any damage to Field Manager
  • Maintain cleanliness and working order of vehicles and equipment; address repair needs and properly plan equipment usage

Qualifications:

  • Current ISA Certification
  • Two years’ experience in a leadership role within a utility VM program (Foreman, General Foreman, Planner, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and a commitment to safe driving
  • Ability to identify local trees and knowledge of growth rate
  • Ability to read and use maps; GIS knowledge is a plus
  • Working knowledge of ISA BMPs for Utility Pruning
  • Ability to perform physical work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Ability to travel; at times up to 100%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TRAQ Certification
  • ISA Utility Specialist
  • Registered Professional Forester
  • Certification in 1st aid/CPR
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Two or Four-year science-related degree

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is performed outdoors in any weather element. May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards including: chemicals, hazardous tool, and equipment. Safety precautions must be followed at all times, including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and other safety equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at any given time. Safe Driving and the ability to drive in a variety of conditions is required.
