Call for 2026-2027 Board Member Nominations

ISA is seeking qualified nominees for the ISA Board of Directors (Board) and the Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC). The closing date for submissions is 3 November 2025 at 5:00 pm USA Eastern Time. 

The purpose of this notice is to solicit nominations from ISA members to fill director and committee positions that will become open in August 2026. ISA members can nominate ANY current ISA member (including themselves) in good standing. The election will occur in Spring 2026.  

ISA’s Board consists of the President, the President-Elect, thirteen Directors and the CEO & Executive Director as an ex-officio member. 

Any ISA member in good standing is eligible for nomination. Interested nominees (either yourself or someone else) should complete the application below for the role of interest (click to open application and instructions):

Nominating Process 

  • The Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC) will review all nominees and develop the ballots. Having a wide range of nominees representing the geographical diversity of ISA helps the NEC develop the best ballots. The NEC uses the following criteria to evaluate nominees’ qualifications: 
  • Current ISA member in good standing 
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a volunteer with an ISA Committee or event, or an ISA Component Committee or event with leadership experience. 
  • Past contributions and service to other professional organizations in arboriculture and related fields 
  • Minimum three years’ experience serving on the Board of Directors of any non-profit organization, OR minimum three years of leadership experience with an ISA Component. 
  • Professional work experience in arboriculture and related fields, including research activities 
  • Professional education and training in arboriculture and related fields 
  • Achievement of Board diversity, including areas of expertise and geography 
  • Recommendations 
  • Any other relevant considerations

Image Database

ISA has a vast inventory of arboriculture- and urban forestry-related images that were compiled with the help of our members and volunteers.

Through a partnership with Forestry Images, ISA has thousands of photos and graphics available for use. ISA either owns the photos or has permission to permit their use.
