Foreman, Forestry and Alleys

Salary: $86,368.59 - $116,598.06

The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois (13,463 – 2020 census) is a diverse home-rule municipality directly north of the City of Chicago consisting of 2.7 square miles, with a unique blend of residential, commercial, and manufacturing areas. The Village is seeking an individual to serve as a Public Works Foreman in the Forestry and Alleys Division. Work involves scheduling, supervising and participating in projects; planning and coordinating work assignments; scheduling crews, materials, equipment, inspecting trees, along with performance of a variety of tasks which may include maintenance of the Village’s tree canopy including removals, planting, and pruning and alleys. Work also includes the coordination of projects between other departments, divisions and agencies. This position is subject to being available for on-call duty for emergencies, which requires availability at any hour or day.

The candidate’s education shall include a high school diploma, a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and International Society of Arborist (ISA) Certified Arborist Certification. ISA Utility Specialist and Commercial Pesticides Applicators License preferred or required within 6 months of hire.

Experience in Public Works operations preferred. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and abilities: attention to detail and accuracy, interpersonal skills, personal integrity, respect, and a passion for public service.

The salary range for this position is $86,368.59 - $116,598.06. This position is classified as a full-time, non-exempt position.
