Urban Forester Aide (Summer Intern)

Location: Washington D.C.
Salary: $17.00 / hr

Horticulture Urban Forester Aide: Under the Capitol Grounds and Arboretum (CGA), the Aide handles a variety of horticultural projects related to managing tree collections and will assist with other projects that support the management of historic cultural landscape records.

The Aide will learn about plant taxa and classification by collecting tree specimens for mounting and filing into the U.S. National Arboretum Herbarium. Will also assist the CGA Urban Forester with projects that support the management of historic cultural landscape records. Will collect data and enter the data into the CGA tree inventory system and perform analysis of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data in examining current and historic tree planting plans.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
