Nature of the work
The Planner 2 - Natural Lands Forester position in the Resource Stewardship Division is responsible for providing professional forestry support and stewardship on over 5,200 acres of Parks owned property and 1,000 acres of County owned forested property.

How to be Successful in the Role: 
Get to know our forests and natural areas! Hike, explore, and work with the Natural Lands Program and Park Staff to develop and implement forest management plans and oversee timber harvest contracts to develop healthy forest ecosystems for the future. Advise on managing forests for climate adaptation, forest health, wildlife enhancement, and carbon sequestration.  Support our team in forest and land protection, sustainability, and join us in designing trails and providing educational opportunities to better connect the public with nature.
