Business Developer

As a Business Developer for Rainbow Ecoscience (a Rainbow Tree Company Brand), your primary responsibility will be to proactively manage, develop, and expand relationships with current and prospective companies that serve multiple markets. You will champion Rainbow’s mission and values to leaders of national and regional companies and other industry influencers. You are ambitious, energetic, inspired by innovation, and are exceptionally skilled at building personal relationships and navigating complex organizations.
The Business Developer is accountable for developing strategies and execution of plans to meet overall business objectives. If you are a proven business developer interested in our 100% employee-owned company, apply today. This is a 50%+ travel position.
What You Will Do:
- Engage in Business Development activities to include prospecting, creating relationships with influencers, decision makers, end users, current buyers, and new prospects within an organization to develop a clear, complete understanding of their business opportunities and needs.
- Identify new customer opportunities to grow regional/national accounts
- Respond to RFP’s
- Create strategic account plans as well as develop and negotiate contracts.
- Coordinate and direct activities with Ecoscience Regional Territory Managers to support local offices/branch managers of National Accounts
- Maintain CRM, including an ongoing list of new prospects
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in related field plus one year of experience, or equivalent work experience of 5+ years in a green industry business development or related role
- 1 year experience in national sales or equivalent education, training, or experience
- Experience with CRM tools in sales environment
- Experience in the green industry
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to speak in public to educate and motivate, coach and mentor individuals as well team members

Physical Demands and Work Environment: (only include if the position requires)
Work is performed outdoors in any weather element throughout urban and rural areas. May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards and hazardous tools and equipment; during which safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at any given time.
