LANDSCAPE SPECIALIST

Summary Description:
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Landscape Architect, performs design and project coordination for assigned tasks. Works cooperatively as part of a design team and with other professionals in engineering and survey to produce specialty drawings and documents such as tree surveys, exhibits, mitigation graphics, and field reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Successfully performs moderately complex information gathering and collection assignments on various projects as assigned.
- Maintains effective communications, both verbal and written, with other landscape team members and teams in engineering and survey, both in the location they are assigned and throughout the firm.
- Uses good time management methods and habits to meet schedule requirements, particularly for the tasks they lead.
- Uses developed organizational skills to complete assignments efficiently and thoroughly.
- Effectively uses current computer aided design and production software to maximize efficiency of production.
- Contributes to a positive environment and team approach for all assignments.
- Consistently uses the standards and procedures set in place, primarily in coordination with the survey group.
- Able to lead project specific tasks through to completion with minimal supervisory oversite.
- Does not typically have project client-direct contact.
Minimum Experience/Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of the design principles associated with landscape architecture within multi-discipline projects.
- Understands a wide variety of native plant materials and is capable of field identification of flora and fauna on a variety of sites in Texas landscapes.
- Proficient in current computer aided design and production software and ability to learn new versions or technology. Able to produce and deliver basic presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in verbal and written form.
- General knowledge of GIS capabilities and integration with CADD software.
- Minimum of one (1) year full time experience
Minimum Registration/Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a Degree in Landscape Architecture or Forestry. Being a Certified Arborist is a strong recommendation. Experience or degrees in other disciplines may be substituted at Management's discretion).
