Functions and Responsibilities:

• Meet with perspective residential and commercial clients during the scheduled time frame to advise and give estimates for tree care services, including but not limited to pruning, removals, stump grinding, and plant health care. Write work order with detailed job instructions for crew leader.
• Follow-up with clients on open estimates to answer their questions and close the sale.
• Be on site at the time job is started if necessary, assist crew leader with set up and client communication.
• Follow-up on completed jobs to ensure client satisfaction. Handle complaints from clients according to company policy and common sense.
• Review invoices and validate final bill before it is sent to the client.
• Be available to work off hours during storm emergencies.
• Follow up with delinquent accounts to assist collection of fees due.
• Maintain client records in software system to create an organized history of all contact with prospects, clients, alliances etc.
• Work with company owner to set an annual sales quota and stay on pace month-to-month to meet that quota.
• Proactively generate independent leads and close sales. Utilize sales methods such as: cloverleafing, cold calling, client referrals, alliances, social media and community events.
• Assist company owner and corporate team in identifying services or marketing strategies of merit in local market so they may effectively target direct mail advertising campaigns.
• Provide arboricultural consulting services. Make surveys for insurance companies for storm damage and/or accident damage cases.
• Present to garden clubs, community groups or other allied organizations to promote sales and good will.
• Participate actively in professional, trade or civic organizations that benefit the industry, the company, the client and the public.
• Participate enthusiastically in company-sponsored training. Independently pursue advancement of your expertise through self-study of arboricultural materials. Dedication to a career in arboriculture is a must.
• Comply with company policy, filling out forms and/or other necessary paperwork.
• Perform all other job-related tasks required by employer for successful operation of the business.

Physical Environment:

• Outdoors, in all types of weather conditions
• In an office environment
• Driving on residential roads and highways 

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and perform occasional physical labor of low to moderate difficulty.
• Use of technology such as; computer, tablet, mobile phone etc.
• Company Sales Vehicle, Tablet and Cell Phone provided

Qualifications:

• 2 or 4-year degree in a related field

• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, strong listening skills.
• Experience selling tree care services including removals, pruning, stump grinding, and plant health care. Familiarity with ANSI and TCIA arboricultural standards is helpful.
• Tree identification, insect and disease identification, and principles of integrated pest management.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Safe and skilled driver able and willing to comply with all traffic laws and regulations.
• ISA Arborist certification or ability to obtain.
• Cooperative, team player able to work well with other employees.
