ISA’s Response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

At ISA, our biggest priority is the health and safety of our members, credential holders, credential candidates, partners, volunteers, and staff. As the global landscape changes daily due to the Covid-19 pandemic and government and public health officials work to contain this virus and minimize the spread, I wanted to personally reach out to you and let you know the contingencies ISA is putting in place.

I have been working very closely with the ISA Board of Directors and our internal leadership team to identify all possible scenarios on how this may affect you, including; assessing how this may disrupt upcoming trainings (including the ability to earn CEUs), examination events, retaining or earning your credentials, meetings, conferences, and tree climbing competitions (TCCs).

Our team is working very closely with testing providers, and local ISA components to determine the impact in each area. We understand that some trainings and/or examination events may have to be cancelled or postponed to protect the safety of these communities. I want to assure you that our credential holders will not be penalized if they can’t fulfill their CEU’s due to training cancellations because of the Covid-19. Additionally, we will work with current credential holders who expire within the next 6 months and/or are registered for ISA TRAQ Renewal events to ensure they are not penalized as a result of these extenuating circumstances. Please visit our FAQ page to answer questions you may have about how COVID 19 will affect credentialing.

We will be sending out specific information to those parties who will be affected by this.

In an abundance of caution, we have halted all ISA business travel and our mission critical business will continue without interruption as our employees work remotely beginning today (16 March 2020) through 6 April 2020, at which time we will reevaluate our remote work options. All employees can continued to be reached through their direct phone numbers and email addresses. Customer service and the rest of our team are available to answer any ISA related questions, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.

My thoughts are with all who have been impacted by Covid-19 as we know it is impacting the industry and daily business operations for many of you. We are grateful for our members, credential holders, partners, and volunteers and will always do our best to keep you safe and informed.

Regards,

Caitlyn Pollihan, CAE
Executive Director
