ISA is excited for the very first ISA 2020 International Virtual Conference. This virtual event will feature educational sessions from industry experts, and we are very excited to share this experience with arboriculture professionals from around the world on 7-11 December 2020.
As you prepare for the upcoming conference, we want to ensure attendees are fully prepared to experience the conference. First, check out the agenda for the conference. This year’s lineup includes over 45 on-demand educational sessions and the opportunity to earn more than 25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The sessions will be available to watch during the conference, and up to 30 days after the event at your convenience. The agenda allows users to filter sessions by tracks, and mark their calendars.
Second, we will be using Whova as the virtual platform for the conference. We recommend using Whova on your computer as well as downloading the app to your phone to get the best experience. 5 days prior to the conference ISA will send attendees a link to use Whova on their desktop as well as a link to download the app.
Whova will allow attendees to access the program, interact with the speakers, organizers, and other attendees, and also access the live and on demand sessions. In particular, the features offered by Whova include the ability to:
- View the conference agenda and plan your schedule;
- Access Livestreams and On-Demand Videos directly within sessions and use the session Q&A;
- Set up Virtual meet-ups with your fellow attendees to connect remotely;
- Create and converse through various Discussion Topics in the Community Board; and
- Receive updates (e.g. last minute session changes from the organizers)
Please check the How-To-Guide to learn more about Whova.
Third, this event provides attendees the opportunity to earn ISA CEUs and to increase their arboricultural knowledge by participating in industry leading educational breakout sessions, and live sessions, led by experts in the profession. If you are a current ISA credential holder, to be eligible to receive CEUs, you will be required to fill out a CEU form with relevant and required information that will be provided within the virtual platform. Additionally, ISA will be tracking through the platform the engagement and attendance time of individual attendees in individual sessions. The CEU requirements for this event are the same as attending an in-person conference in that you must watch the entirety of sessions and report the CEU codes shared in each individual session you attend. These conference sessions will only be available in this format to registered attendees for 30 days following the conference.
To receive credit for CEUs you must watch sessions through the Agenda tab, and NOT through the Video or Video Gallery tab on Whova. You will be able to receive credit for sessions watched on demand outside of the times listed in the event.
Lastly, more information is coming soon. Don’t forget to check your email for conference updates in the coming weeks.
We look forward to seeing you at the ISA 2020 International Virtual Conference!
