The Annual ISA International Conference and Trade Show offers students a great opportunity to network with industry professionals, learn about new topics and technology, and meet fellow arboriculture students from around the world.
How to apply
ISA Student Ambassador Program
ISA will award up to 10 student finalists with fully paid registration for the 2019 ISA Annual International Conference and Tradeshow and three nights of hotel accommodations. Student Ambassadors are required to attend a set of scheduled events. The events include, but are not limited to, the conference opening ceremony, informal career fair on the trade show floor, focus groups, and social and networking events. Some meals will be provided. Ambassadors will have plenty of free time to fully experience the conference.
AREA Student Travel Grant
AREA will award travel grants to five top AREA Student Travel Grant applicants. Grant recipients residing in North America will receive $500 (USD). Grant recipients residing outside North America will receive $750 (USD). All recipients of this grant receive fully paid registration for the 2019 ISA Annual International Conference and Tradeshow.
Student Travel Grant winners will give a 10-minute presentation to an audience of academics, researchers, and others during the AREA sessions at the conference. Applicants are required to submit a presentation abstract (summary) in the grant application. The abstract submitted will be the basis of their conference presentation and needs to be relevant to the AREA sessions. In addition, grant recipients will be asked to submit an article about their conference experience and attend the AREA meeting.
Note: The AREA Student Travel Grant application requires submission of a presentation abstract/summary of 250 words or less. Applicants may want to prepare their abstract prior to completing the application. (Preference will be given to students who demonstrate presenting results of their research.) Additionally, a letter of support from a professor or faculty advisor must be submitted to membership@isa-arbor.com.
Applications are now closed for the 2019 Student Ambassador Program and AREA Student Travel Grant.
