Arborist - Intermediate/Apprentice Level

Salary:

Full-time development role, focused on building the knowledge and skills to become a credentialed climbing arborist

Position Summary: Assist with and perform high-quality tree care including structure pruning, crown reduction, cabling/bracing and ornamental pruning.  Actively work to obtain Certified Arborist credential and achieve full climbing arborist position.  Apply existing knowledge and gain experience in tree biology, pruning strategies, growth response, diagnostics and risk assessment.  Continue learning and contribute to the advancement of our profession through education, volunteering/participating at industry events and tree climbing competitions.

Minimum Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in professional arboriculture, seeking to obtain Certified Arborist within 24 months
  • At least 6 months professional tree climbing experience
  • Knowledgeable in safe work practices for ground ops, chainsaw ops, climbing, rigging, chipper ops
  • Some experience driving trucks with towed chippers/trailers
  • Leadership experience and other credentials a plus (eg. CTW, TCIA courses)
  • Starting wage $22-28/hour with raise of $2/hour upon obtaining Certified Arborist credential
