Traffic Control Flagger

Birchcrest Tree and Landscape, Inc. is looking for year-round Traffic Control Flagger with a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the landscape industry.

Duties may include:

• Set up safe work zones with proper equipment
• Control traffic flow with stop/slow paddles
• Use hand signals and directional signs to direct traffic around work sites
• Appropriately position warning, detour signs, set up barricades, and traffic cones around work sites
• Familiar with traffic control setups & designs required by NYSDOT
• Follows safety rules and regulations on all work sites, safely controlling vehicular, pedestrian, and traffic movements in a work area; duties may vary according to job assignment
• Maintain a clean job site

Requirements include:

• Excellent work habits and organizational skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Familiar with traffic control safety, setups, and design

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to wear necessary PPE
• Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments
• Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment
• Clean driver's license
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test
• Must be able to pass criminal background check
• **Given the dangerous nature of the work required, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time**

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, move and maneuver heavy weights of 10 pounds frequently, and weights of up to 50 pounds
• Gripping
• Climbing
• Balancing
• Pulling and pushing
