Located in Richmond, Virginia, CCV was organized in 1908, and has always been one of the nation’s largest full-service country clubs. Our 7,600+ members support 1,111 acres containing two beautiful clubhouses situated seven miles apart, three golf courses, racquet sports, aquatics, fitness, and multiple dining outlets and special event venues. CCV employs a staff of over 600 and has an operating budget of $30 million.

 

The Position

Successful candidates must be able to learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies. This position requires accurate knowledge of tree felling, advanced tree climbing techniques, and advanced rigging experience while in the air. The Lead Arborist will supervise crew of one or more in performing required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Display strong tree/insect/disease identification skills

  • Apply/coordinate fertilizer and pesticide application to trees/shrubs as needed

  • Climb trees in accordance with safety requirements as outlined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

  • Conform to ISA A300 standards and best management practices

  • Inspect trees for hazards, safety, and health while identifying and applying corrective course of action

  • Climb trees in excess of 50' (without the aid of tree gaffs)

  • Remove storm damage and debris

  • Address member concerns and/or questions and respond appropriately

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tree climbing with rope and saddle

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience

  • Strong customer communication skills


Schedule

Primarily Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; on call during significant weather events.
