Supervises, delegates and coordinates work activities for a crew of three to four employees within the Forestry Division. Works under the direct supervision of the Forestry Supervisor. Directly oversees and assists with daily operations relative to tree management including administrative duties, tree planting, pruning, and removal operations. Trains forestry employees in: 1) safe climbing practices using rope and saddle techniques; 2) proper rigging techniques; 3) working with cranes on large tree removals; 4) proper structural tree pruning of small and medium size trees; 5) operation of specialized forestry equipment; 6) proper tree planting following industry and division standards.
