Taking Root Scholarship Awarded

ISA’s mission involves promoting the professional practice of arboriculture, and many of our ISA members and supporting companies offer opportunities for future arborists to earn an education. Arborjet, a leader in tree and plant health care, is an example of that with their recent announcement that it has awarded the 2019 Taking Root Scholarship to this year’s deserving students. Now in its sixth consecutive year, the program offers $10,000 in scholarships to students who plan to pursue full-time studies in forestry, plant sciences, horticulture, entomology or a related major at an accredited two-or four-year college.

Upcoming Changes to ISA Shipping Rates

ISA’s shipping rates are being updated to address the continued rate increases from all carriers (UPS, FedEx and the US Postal Service).  Effective 1 October 2019, ISA will charge the actual cost of shipping for all product orders. Shipping rates will be adjusted daily and will be based directly on the costs from our carriers. ISA will receive no revenue from this change.

ISA’s educational periodical Arborist News seeks articles to be considered for publication in upcoming issues. Articles should be submitted via email to the editorial office at editor@isa-arbor.com. Feature articles range between 1500 to 2000 words; shorter articles range between 500 to 1000 words. Images are encouraged.
