Second Edition of the CODIT Principle available in English

ISA offers a variety of educational materials and products to help arborists expand their professional knowledge and experience. Every month, we feature a product or group of products.

In September, ISA is featuring Dirk Dujesiefken and Walter Liese’s 2022 The CODIT Principle, 2nd Edition, which has now been translated to English. This new and updated text summarizes current knowledge about tree biology, tree wound responses, and the implications for professional tree care.

Trees in the human environment must cope with many changes to their surroundings over the course of their lifespan, including soil compaction, paving, root damage caused by excavation work, crown pruning, collision damage, and vandalism.

This book describes the biological processes that trees experience as they respond to wounds. Additionally, the authors provide practical recommendations for the care and preservation of trees in urban areas—a great resource for arborists, tree inspectors, urban forestry professionals, landscapers, municipalities, and parks departments.

This second edition of the CODIT Principle is now available in the ISA store.
