Science and Research Webinar: Kevin Martin, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

The ISA Science and Research Committee (SRC) and the Arboricultural Research and Education Academy (AREA) have partnered to host a webinar titled “Selecting Climate Resilient Trees for Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew: Evidence-Based Approaches to Tree Selection.” This virtual opportunity will take place Monday 29 April at 12pm (noon) Eastern Time (US), and CEUs will be available. In the interest of promoting open access to science and research, there is no cost associated with this event, though registration is required to attend.

Royal Botanic Gardens (RBG), Kew's succession plan embodies a proactive response to the rapid pace of climate change. Through meticulous analysis and integration of scientific data, the institution seeks to identify tree species best suited to thrive in future climatic conditions. The webinar will illuminate how RBG Kew's commitment to data-driven decision-making empowers it to navigate the complexities of climate change, ultimately fostering a landscape resilient to the challenges of tomorrow.

The webinar presenter, Kevin Martin serves as the Head of Tree Collections at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where he shoulders the vital responsibility of curating the tree collection.
