ISA offers a variety of educational materials and products to help arborists improve their arboricultural knowledge and experience. Every month we will feature a product or program. For February, we are featuring the ISA Certified Urban Forest Professional credential.

In 2024, ISA introduced the ISA Certified Urban Forest Professional program which updated and replaced the former ISA Certified Arborist Municipal Specialist® credential. The program’s new name and logo come with various programmatic changes meant to better reflect advancements in arboriculture and the evolving role of urban forestry professionals. The updated certification emphasizes expertise in urban forest management, arboricultural practices, communication and public education, as well as administration, policy, and planning for credential holders.
