ISA 2025 ITCC is Just One More Month Away

This October will officially determine who will be the next International Tree Climbing Champion.

The 2025 International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) will be coming to Christchurch, New Zealand, from 17-19 October. ITCC highlights the talents and skills of professional tree climbers from around the world through competitive events including Aerial Rescue, Work Climb, Ascent, Belayed Speed Climb, and Throwline.

“For the first time ever, the International Tree Climbing Championship is touching down on our shores,” NZ Arb immediate past president Richie Hill said. “With Aotearoa world champion Steph Dryfhout leading the charge, this won’t just be a competition; it’s going to be a showdown in the treetops, for when the ropes go up, the champions rise.”

During ITCC, there will also be an Arbor Fair for attendees to learn more about environmental issues and tree care. ITCC and the Arbor Fair will take place at Hagley Park.
