Vermeer Corporation, a manufacturer of industrial and agricultural equipment, is one of ISA’s longstanding Gold Canopy Partners and has been with the program since its inception.
The ISA Canopy Partners program is a collaborative initiative with industry leaders to better promote the professional practice of arboriculture, inform the public about the benefits of trees and provide a global network of arborists, urban foresters and people who care for trees.
Vermeer and its dealer network initially joined the program to promote sustainable and safe practices through educating individuals and organizations in the many industries they serve. Through this partnership, Vermeer is better able to continue its connection with the arboriculture industry.
“ISA’s mission aligns closely with Vermeer’s goals, particularly in identifying industry needs and addressing them with effective solutions,” said Spenser Remick, Sales Manager for Tree Care, Rental, and Landscape. “Just as ISA works to close gaps within the arboriculture industry, Vermeer is dedicated to understanding the evolving needs of our markets and delivering solutions informed by our industry partners and ultimately, our valued customers.”
Both Vermeer and ISA also highlight the positive impact proper tree care can have on communities through their work. Remick added that sustainability is central to Vermeer and to how the company approaches design, manufacturing, and powering its facilities. These are all ways Vermeer considers the needs of the future through today’s operations.
With this in mind, Vermeer remains active in the communities it serves through initiatives such as Saluting Branches, which honor and uplift arborists who have served and sacrificed for the U.S. Vermeer also encourages employees to participate in local community projects through Volunteer Day Off programs.
Remick said Vermeer believes in being an active community partner, which is part of the reason local engagement is an important part of its company’s culture. Some of its community outreach efforts include volunteering with local food pantries and participating in family-focused events and community nights at local venues. Vermeer also collaborates with local school systems to build awareness around career opportunities in skilled trades and manufacturing.
“By engaging locally, we strengthen our position as an employer of choice while offering meaningful career opportunities to individuals in our surrounding communities,” Remick said. “Engaged and fulfilled employees, in turn, help create a positive impact through the products they design and build for communities around the world.”
