Congrats to the ISA 2025 APTCC Winners

Congratulations to Stephanie Dryfhout from the New Zealand Arboriculture Association and Barton Allen-Hall from Arboriculture Australia on becoming the 2025 Asia-Pacific Tree Climbing Championship (APTCC) Masters’ Challenge winners.

The 2025 APTCC took place 23-25 May in Brisbane, Australia and featured the region’s top climbers—20 women and 29 men—showcasing their skills.

"It was awesome," Dryfhout said. "The trees made for a challenging climb, and the good weather held out. Everything about [this competition] was executed well."

Both Dryfhout and Allen-Hall are returning APTCC champions. In addition to both competitors being the 2024 APTCC Masters' Challenge winners in Kuantan, Malaysia, Dryfhout also won the competition in 2023 in Changi, Singapore, and Allen-Hall in 2019 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Additionally, Dryfhout and Allen-Hall were the Masters' Challenge winners of the 2024 International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) in Savannah, Georgia, US.

Dryfhout and Allen-Hall will go on to compete in the 2025 ITCC in Christchurch, New Zealand.
