Consulting Construction Arborist

Location: St. Louis, MO
Salary: $25-$35 (depending on experience)

Frontenac Forestry is pleased to offer a key opportunity as a Consulting Arborist. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality work with excellent organizational abilities and strong attention to detail. Must work well under pressure and be able to manage several priorities in a day; must be adaptable, creative, and self-motivated. This position is unique to the Arborcare industry and focuses mainly on tree preservation in a construction setting

 

DUTIES

• Acts as a supporting member of an arborist office crew that tends to the company's overall work flow.
• Performs detailed field surveys and processes data collected from site visits.
• Coordinates with commercial, residential, and civil customers in digitally producing tree studies and preservation/protection plan documents for construction permitting purposes
• Estimates time/cost for crews to perform tree removal, pruning, brush clearing, stump grinding, and other arboricultural/landscaping services.
• Performs root pruning via air spade, erects temporary tree protection fencing, and performs miscellaneous other physical labor tasks including occasional brush removal and branch pruning.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ideal candidate has 2 plus years of experience in tree industry OR a two or four-year degree in a green industry discipline; high school diploma or equivalent required
• ISA Arborist Certification
• Strong tree/plant species identification skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Good people skills; self-motivated; computer proficient while multi-tasking
• Candidate must have a valid driver's license
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, stand from crouching position, work in extreme    temperatures in an outdoor setting, walk distances up to a mile in wooded and hilly terrain
