April 15, 2013- ISA Membership to vote for new Board Members and Nominating and Elections Committee Members. Voting begins on April 19, 2013. ISA is seeking to fill three seats on the ISA Board of Directors and two seats on the Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC). ISA Members will be able to vote electronically through May 17, 2013.View detailed election information.
Update September 5, 2012 The ITCC Technical Advisory Committee has been developing a set of Performance Criteria which outlines specifications regarding the performance required for fall protection equipment used by participants in ISA tree climbing competitions. The committee has extended the period of public review to gather feedback regarding this proposed documentation. The document review period will now close October 31. You may view the document and submit feedback and inquiries to the committee via itcc@isa-arbor.com by this date.
May 22, 2012-ISA Announces Newly-Elected Board Members for 2012-13 This spring, three ISA Board of Directors positions were open for election by the ISA membership, and one position was open for election by the Council of Representatives. The terms for the following elected positions will begin in August 2012 in conjunction with the ISA Annual International Conference and Trade Show in Portland, Oregon, and end in August 2015.
Elected by the ISA Membership:
Melinda Myers, Melinda Myers LLC, Milwaukee (ISA Wisconsin Chapter); Melinda is serving her second, three-year term.
Brian Phelan, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia (ISA Atlantic Chapter; Brian is serving his second, three-year term.
Paul Johnson, Texas Forest Service, San Antonio (ISA Texas Chapter); Paul is serving his first, three-year term.
Elected by Council of Representatives:
de Gourét Litchfield, Svensk Trädvård & Utbildning AB, Ballingslöv (ISA Swedish Chapter); de Gourét is serving his second, three-year term.

September 20, 2011-The Society of Municipal Arborists, in conjunction with the USDA Forest Service Urban & Community Forestry Program, and the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, is launching a municipal forestry internship program for undergraduate college students interested in a career in Municipal Arboriculture. The primary objective of this program is to provide a hands-on experience alongside practicing professionals who will serve as mentors over the internship period and will work to help the students identify and develop the skills needed to be successful practitioners. 2012 Internship Application
