Presentation Description
Title: Development of International Urban Forest Data Standards
Summary: The International Society of Arboriculture, the U.S. Forest Service, and the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations are convening a team of scientists and practitioners to develop international standards for urban forest data collection, measurement and recording. With the advent of computerized urban forestry software it has become evident that international standards related to urban forest data collection will reduce the costs of urban forest data collection and analyses, facilitate the development of new urban forest tools, aid in sharing of data and tools, and help promote urban forest management internationally. This conference session will have several presentations and discussions related to the development of the new international standards.
