About the Role
Environmental Design, Inc. (EDI) is seeking a highly skilled Arborist who is passionate about tree health, client relationships, and delivering exceptional service. This is a field-based role where you will visit project and transplant sites, evaluate tree and site conditions, document findings into report deliverables with detailed recommendations and service proposals as needed.
This is ideal for someone who loves being hands-on in the field, communicates professionally with clients, uses technology well, and takes initiative to strengthen relationships and identify revenue opportunities. Core Responsibilities
Tree & Site Inspection

Perform on-site tree health and site culture inspections at recently transplanted or managed locations.

Document findings with photos, notes, measurements, and digital condition reports.

Identify issues early and provide clear recommendations for remediation or care.

Maintain a structured inspection schedule for active projects and tree warranties.
Client Communication & Reporting

Interface directly with clients during site visits and follow-ups.

Deliver inspection summaries, recommendations, and service needs within 24 hours.

Maintain a high professional standard in tone, clarity, and responsiveness.

Represent EDI with integrity and reliability at all times.
Technology, Tracking & Documentation

Use Salesforce (or internal tools) to log notes, inspections, quotes, and next steps.

Upload photos, reports, conditions, and future visit schedules without missing detail.

Track tree performance trends and escalate concerns early to project teams.

Maintain an organized digital record of all sites, clients, and action items.
Revenue Growth & Proposal Support

Prepare quotes for pruning, watering, fertilization, mitigation work, or specialty care.

Generate proposals for services tied to improving survival, health, and growth.

Identify service needs that support revenue growth and client retention.

Participate in hand-offs to operations with complete scopes, requirements, and notes.
Performance Expectations

All inspection reports delivered within 24 hours of site visit.

Respond to client communication within one business day.

Proposals generated within 24 hours where mitigation/services are recommended.

Maintain accurate, complete reporting inside Salesforce and internal systems.

Contribute to revenue growth through arborist-led services and proposals.

Required Experience & Qualifications

ISA Certified Arborist.

1–3+ years experience in arboriculture, horticulture, nursery, forestry, or landscape operations.

Strong understanding of tree health, stress indicators, soil moisture, and best practices.

High competency with technology — mobile apps, digital reporting, Salesforce/CRM tools.

Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.

Self-starter mindset — able to work independently and manage schedule.

Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within assigned region.
