Urban Forestry Technical Services Manager

The Urban Forestry Technical Services Manager oversees the Technical Services of the City of Milwaukee Forestry Section by developing and implementing in-service training programs, coordinating independent and cooperative research projects related to plant health care, urban forest management techniques and operations and supervising up to 25 Urban Forestry Arborist Apprentices, three full-time Tree Protection Technicians, six Urban Forestry Interns and three Youth Arborist Apprentices annually.  The Urban Forestry Technical Services Manager participates in snow and ice control operations.

This position is anticipated to be part of the City’s “Growing Milwaukee’s Tree Canopy and Community Resilience Program,” funded by a grant from the U.S. Forest Service for three years.  This is intended to be a regularly-budgeted position within the Forestry Section after the three-year grant period.
