Urban Forest Planner

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Salary:

Diamond Head Consulting, an award-winning environmental consulting firm based in Vancouver, is seeking an Urban Forest Planner to join our team. The Urban Forest Planner would join our planning team that focused primarily on urban forestry related planning projects as well as other local government environmental planning projects. Primary duties and responsibilities would be:

• Lead, manage and coordinate projects and clients on a variety of environmental and urban forestry planning projects

• Develop, prepare, and maintain project/task schedules and budgets for projects, including monitoring project progress, work hours, and budget

• Create written content for strategic and policy planning projects related to the management of the urban forest and environmental assets

• Support or lead in the design and facilitation of community engagement

• Assist with and take the lead on proposal development and other business development related activities

Specialist tasks required include:

• With support from our GIS team, conduct geospatial data analysis, data review, or publish maps (familiarity with ESRI products will be considered a requirement)

• Writing public-facing strategies and creating high-quality report layouts (familiarity with Adobe InDesign will be considered an asset)

Candidates must have:

• Degree in urban forestry or a related field

• At least 3 years of relevant experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• ISA Certified Arborist and/or Registered Professional Forester (BC), or eligibility

• Experience working with or within local government
