Consulting/Municipal Arborist

Location: Miami, FL
Salary: $35/hour

Consulting Aborist needed to support botique consulting arborist firm in South Florida: New Leaf Environmental. Principal duties will be to provide in-house arborist/landscape consultant work for the City of Miami Gardens, including conducting inspections of recently installed landscaping, reviewing applications for tree impact permits, reviewing proposed landscape plans, conducting field inspections in support of applications and code compliance, technical report writing. 

Candidate needs ability to work independently, will interface directly with City staff and applicants/residents. In addition to work with the City, the consulting arborist will provide consulting arborist field assessments throughout the County in support of private development projects as needed.

Must be ISA-Certified Arborist, LIAF Certified Landscape Inspector preferred. Four-year degree in related field strongly preferred. Must possess valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Will be reimbursed for mileage traveled and all work expenses, including laptop, equipment, etc.

Position is hourly, schedule is flexible and can accomodate other commitments - a minimum of 30 hours are needed per week, with likely 40 hours per week needed most weeks. Employer benefits not available (through with potential for benefits/conversion to salaried empployee in the future). Hourly rate intended to compensate for employee to prove their own benfits, and will be $35/hour.
