Field Manager

Location: Santa Ana, CA
Salary:

We’re looking for a driven, hard-working Tree Care Supervisor to provide support for our Operations team. The candidate is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of our tree trimming and removal crews. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, able to work independently and enjoy the challenges of supporting a small tree company. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Certified Arborist, knowledgeable in tree care, capable of managing multiple tree trimming & removal crews requiring daily face-to-face interaction with crew leaders and staff.

• Manage Work Order process to include: set up and daily communication of work assignments; liaison between work crews and Internal Operations production team; daily verification with crew leaders of crew hours, completed work and work remaining; accuracy and completeness of paperwork throughout the process

• Meet with schedule coordinator daily to ensure approved work is completed and to resolve issues as they arise

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to direct crew personnel and coordination with senior management.

• Respond as directed for after-hours emergency work

• Call in dig alerts as required for areas needing removals or plantings. Obtain city permits as required

• Assist in hiring crew members

• Act as field operations representative for the EAC safety program. Works closely with the Director of Safety to ensure all crew personnel are wearing required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) are performing duties in a safe manner and other matters related to safety in the field and in the yard.

• Primary liaison with Safety Coordinator in supporting Tailgate training sessions and monthly crew training sessions.

• Assists with incident and injury reports in cooperation with the Safety Coordinator

• Periodically conduct audits supporting safety and operations policies as directed.

• Develop overall operation expertise such that brief absences by management personnel on the operations team can be covered.

• This position is full time, hours TBD.

Desired Competencies

• Excellent written, verbal communication skills and extremely organized. Bi-lingual English / Spanish very desirable.

• Knowledge of basic computer skills including MS office suite, iPhone/iPad, Outlook email.

• Strong attention to detail, timely, highly dependable, and efficient

• Strong interpersonal and Supervisory skills.

 

Preferred Work Education/Experience

• 3 years of combined tree climbing and Supervisory and Tree Care experience.

• Certified Arborist License Preferred
