Overview

The Fleet Services Manager will oversee, manage and coordinate the programs for the acquisition, assignment, utilization, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles. The Fleet Services Manager also serves as the primary contact for field offices concerning fleet vehicles, equipment, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage vehicle/equipment asset management process from procurement to disposition.
  • Develop schedules and procedures to ensure adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all fleet vehicles.
  • Partner with Division Management to implement effective fleet solutions and control expenses such as fuel and labor.
  • Establish policies and procedures related to best practices for effective fleet management.
  • Prepare and implement departmental budget.
  • Develop and enforce procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff.
  • Establish and manage third party vendor relationships.
  • Partner with the Equipment Committee and Safety Committee on fleet planning and designing.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the day-to-day workflow of the department and staff.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and to monitor and reduce expenses.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Five years of experience in fleet maintenance or repair with two years in a supervisory role required.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of Tree Care industry and products is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to access and navigate fleet parking lot and maintenance facilities.
