Climbing and Rigging

Sheet Bend

Do you know how to join two ropes of different diameters using a sheet bend? The sheet bend is most easily remembered as a bowline tied with two separate lines. In this episode of Climbing & Rigging, we’ll show how you can join two ropes using a sheet bend or a slippery bend. The slippery bend is easy to untie and can be instantly spilled by pulling out the bight, but it’s suitable only for passing ropes to the climber. See in the video how these bends are tied!
