JOB SUMMARY:

Performs arboricultural duties including, technical strategies of tree maintenance such as disease treatment prevention. Assists with maintaining an inventory of trees within each designated zone. Position subject to overtime and callback. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:

70% - Essential - Aerial Duties:
Uses aerial lift and approved skilled climbing techniques to remove and prune trees in order to clear streets, sidewalks and signs. Ensures the continued health of trees. Reduces the risk of tree failure. Plants, sprays, stakes and maintains trees. Performs additional arboricultural tasks as requested.

20% - Essential - Ground duties:
Performs ground pruning using pole saws and gas powered pole saws. Removes trees, stumps, fallen limbs and related debris. Maintains trees.

10% - Essential - Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Operates and maintains all arboricultural equipment such as boom trucks, chippers, stump grinders, dump trucks, power tools and any additional arboricultural related equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School or Equivalent and experience that is directly related to the area of employment

Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as Lead - Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Standard Hrs: 40; Band: 04 ($ 26,988.00 - $ 49,932.00)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Licenses - Drivers License Class B CDL
