Responsibilities:

  • Manage and plan work for utility vegetation management around energized conductors
  • This position is primarily field based; administrative tasks are required and will be performed remotely or in an office setting on daily basis
  • Collect tree data for field surveys along electric utility lines
  • Manage efficient and effective work flow processes
  • Operate and maintain all field equipment
  • Contact and communicate with private landowners and land agencies on an regular basis
  • Interact with the public and coworkers in a professional manner
  • Exceptional communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Associates/Certificate in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Conservation, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Botany, Horticulture, Agricultural Science, or related field
  • Utility Vegetation Management Experience preferred
  • Ability to identify eastern U.S. tree species as well as common invasive plant species
  • ISA Arborist Certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently with good time management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Positive attitude and commitment to quality are essential
  • Proficient in map navigation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software a plus
