The Arboriculture Research and Education Academy (AREA) was established to encourage communication and coordination among scientists and educators working in arboriculture and urban forestry. AREA strives to connect those working in the physical, biological, ecological and sociological sciences.

International Union of Forest Research Organization

The International Union of Forest Research Organization (IUFRO) is an international association focusing on forest sciences. Divided in to subject-specific categories, IUFRO has an Urban Forestry Unit within in its Social, Economic, Information, and Policy Sciences Division.
