Title: Evaluating Effectiveness and Student Preference of Interactive CDROMs in Arborist Training

Summary: The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of interactive CD-ROMs in preparation for the ISA Arborist Certification exam and analyze student preference for these materials. In addition to taking the ISA Arborist Certification exam, all the participants were asked to take a learning-style-inventory test, fill a time-log of study hours, and complete a final survey of their preferences. We expect that results reveal that the CD-ROMs are as or more efficient in teaching arboriculture than the traditional study guide book showing less time devoted to study with comparable scores on the certification exam.
