Title: Chainsaws ARE For Women!

Summary: Chainsaws ARE for Women! is a hands-on workshop designed to introduce female arborists basic chainsaw safety, ergonomics, and felling techniques. This educational opportunity provides attendees with a non-competitive learning environment that helps foster confidence in both novice- and intermediate-level chainsaw operators. Safety is at the core of the lesson plan, with time devoted to the ANSI Z133 safety standards, proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safe use and handling of chainsaws. Once these fundamentals have been addressed, participants will move on to basic felling principles: face notches, back-cuts, the Five Step Felling Plan, and body positioning and ergonomics while handling a chainsaw.
