Presentation Description

Title: Correlation of sonic data, wood resistivity data, pulling test data and material properties in standing Trees

Summary: Sonic tomography, electric impedance tomography, and static tree pulling tests are well-known methods for assessing tree stability in a non-destructive manner. All three methods give different types of information about the wood. This talk presents preliminary results of a two-year research project in which data from sonic tomography, electric impedance tomography and tree pulling test was collected. These data sets will be correlated with mechanical wood properties, recorded during destructive sampling.
