Pine Tree Branch perserve

You've seen the small, thin Christmas Trees that appear to be a pine trunk, then branches attached onto it sparingly. Some have call this the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree.

I want to take branches off real pine Christmas trees and preserve them in order to make my custom made Christmas tree. I've seen the look, but I need to know how to preserve.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you
