Dormant live cuttings for bank stabilization

First of all, I apologize for the sent empty message - I hit enter just a little to early! Anyways,
thanks to all of you who helped answer my previous question regarding the proper planting
procedures for root balled trees. Now, here is another situation. We are doing a riverbank
stabilization project in which we are using the bioengineering technique of planting live
cuttings of willow and dogwood species on the upper portion of the bank. The preferred
time period for the planting to occur is between Nov and March when the plants are
dormant. However, due to other time constraints and the precarious condition of the
riverbank, the work needs to be done out of this time frame. So, the question is, if the
cuttings are planted later than March say into April or May, will the cuttings take and provide
effective stabilization?
Thanks for the input!
