Sphaeropsis gall on holly

I would like some feedback from any arborist in central
Florida about their experience with Sphaeropsis gall on holly.
What I am trying to learn is if anyone has had any luck
saving a lightly infected tree by pruning it out. Any
first hand information on this subject would be greatly
appreciated.
