I understand that enviro-factorshave a significant influence on transpiration rates. But it still seems that knowing "comparitive" transpiration rates between tree species...assuming both were in the same environmental area
would be very useful.
If I knew, for instance, that Elms have a TR that is 3x that of Oaks, given the same location, I would have an indicator of what species might be better placed where.
Granted, decisions based on just this data would be reckless, but it still seem like the info woulf be "handy".
Amateurs really like "handy".
So, if anyone can offer some thoughts along the lines of comparitive species TR, it would be much appreciated.
