As an arborist visiting from Toronto Canada I was dismayed at the number if trees being topped in the communities of Contra Costa and Sacramento. Why is this practice occuring so frequently here? Is there a perception that this method is acceptable among the public and if so are there any companies out there combating this?
I concede that topping occurs in may communities but I have not seen it that bad.
